New Year Is Here, Now What?

 

New Year is here, now what (make sure you watch the video first)?

Have you started? You know, those goals that you wrote down last month. Wait, you did not write them down yet? 😉

Well, how about those goals that are in your head right now? Goals like:

  1. Eat better.
  2. Sleep more.
  3. Exercise.
  4. Read a book/month.
  5. Smile more!

The New Year is here and it’s Jan 2nd, 2017. If you have not started on your goals, then, you are two days behind! Uh oh! 😲

No need to fret my friend. Let me help you get on track before you get discouraged and decided that reaching your goals is not worth it.

Yes, the new year is here and here are my three suggestions to get started on your best year ever!

Eat Breakfast

If you have a goal of weight loss in the New Year, then one of the most proven and best ways to lose weight is to eat breakfast.

Breakfast is a great way to jumpstart your metabolism after it’s been slowed down by your sleep. I recommend easy foods such as: eggs, fruit & veggies (in season if possible), yogurt and oatmeal.

Eating breakfast can prevent you from eating too much at lunch or dinner. As a result, you are more likely to lose weight than maintain or gain!

Exercise in the Morning

You are busy. From the moment you wake up to the time you put your head on your pillow at night, it’s go, go and go. As a result, finding time to exercise can be hard.

For that reason, I recommend you exercise in the morning. Not only will you feel better going to work, but, you won’t have to worry about exercise for the rest of the day! Pretty awesome right?

If you do not want to meet with someone like me, then, I recommend basis exercises such as push-ups, squats, planks, & cobras that you can do from home. These exercises hit all your major muscle groups and will get your body looking and feeling great!

Hit the Sack Earlier

If you are like me, then, you struggle with going to bed at a decent hour. Research shows that humans need 7-9 hrs of sleep/night.   I bet you get less than that don’t you? 🙈

My suggestion is that each week for the next month, you go to bed 15 minutes earlier than you normally do. If you can maintain this for an entire month, your body will adapt to going to bed earlier and you will love yourself for it!
