Three Better Holiday Eating Tips

 

Three better holiday eating tips is my topic for today. As you know, eating better during the holiday is challenging.  The holidays are full of foods that simply aren’t good for you (and me too)!

However, I have a plan to help you survive the holidays and at least maintain your current weight.  Here are my three better holiday eating tips for you!

  1. Drink more Water.
  2. Go for a 10-15 minute brisk walk.
  3. Eat a salad first.

Drink More Water

Water is the king of kings. You can go several days without eating, but you can’t do the same with water.

Water does the following good for you body:

  1. Makes you feel full.
  2. Keeps you hydrated.
  3. Flushes out toxins.

Water should be your best friend during the holidays, so, drink up!

Go For a Walk

I know, walking is not eating. However, it can help you to eat less. Yep, if you are going to eat like me, then, a walk outside or treadmill is definitely in order.

It’s no secret what exercise does for your body. Even if it’s for 10-15 minutes, a brisk walk can burn off that last piece of pumpkin pie or turkey leg you ate.

Eat a Salad First

A healthy and light appetizer, such as a salad, can prevent you from overeating.

Plus, the vegetables in the salad maybe the only healthy carbs you’ll eat during the holiday season, lol!

Seriously, I recommend keeping your salad simple (i.e. lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers and sprinkled with oil, vinegar, salt/pepper and lemon juice! Bon Appetite!
