Stop Skipping Workouts

Stop skipping workouts! Yes, I said it.  I know, I know, exercise is hard for you to do on a regular basis. Whether it is a matter of scheduling, lack of motivation, or being too busy, you find it hard to be consistent with exercise. Here are three things you can do to stop skipping workouts.

Schedule It

In order to stop skipping workouts, you must schedule them. You schedule your hair, dentist and nail appointments, so, why not schedule your workout? How often do you miss the three appointments that I just listed? If you said hardly ever, then, you must start treating your workouts the same.

Most people use some sort of scheduling system to manage their life. If you are a morning person, schedule your workout for the morning. If you are an evening person, schedule your workout for the evening. This workout time is non-negotiable and your sphere on influence needs to know this. Scheduling will help you stop skipping workouts.

Workout Partner

In order to stop skipping workouts, you should have an exercise partner. If you are like most people I know, you do not want to let someone down. A workout partner will be counting on you to be there with them. Having that accountable, can you help you to stop skipping workouts by you providing the same source of encouragement for you workout partner that they are giving you.

Discipline Yourself

In order to stop skipping workouts, discipline yourself. Sometimes, scheduling your exercise and having a workout partner just does not work. There is that saying, “hit them where it hurts.” Hitting people where it hurts means bringing your money to the table. Decide on a dollar amount that you will pay yourself when you do skip workouts.

So, if you set a goal of exercising five days next week and you only make three days, then, you would take $25 (in cash) and burn it, literally! Some of you may laugh, but, I am serious! I am sure you would rather burn $25 now, then $1000’s later because of medical bills due to you skipping workouts. Disciplining yourself with money can help you to stop skipping workouts.

Consistent exercise can be a challenge. However, do not let that stop you. If you schedule it, have a workout partner and discipline yourself, you can stop skipping workouts. Schedule a consultation with us today so we can help you with an awesome game-plan to stop skipping workouts!
